Holy Moly! Tickets go on sale in 5 days!!

OK, so here is the deal. On Wednesday September 1st, tickets will be available for I Got Fired. Each year a certain number of shows get extensions (additional performances). The first few shows that sell out are the ones that get the extension. Producers and theater mucky-mucks are far more likely to “pick up” a show for a commercial run if it has proven it is capable of selling tickets quickly (and the buzz that comes with it). So basically, it’s a race between I Got Fired and the other shows to sell out first and get the extensions. Suffice to say, it’s a big deal that we sell our tickets as fast as humanly possible.

SO, here is where we ask a favor from YOU. If you are intending to buy tickets to I Got Fired, we ask that you attempt to buy the tickets on Wed September 1st (the first day they are available). This helps us get an extension and it helps you guarantee that you get a ticket. There are fewer than 600 tickets available for the entire run, so they will go (we hope) very quickly.

Our run at NYMF is an amazing opportunity for myself (Keith) and the entire IGF team. Stuff like how many tickets we sell on the first day really matters. You would be doing us a huge favor by participating in our “buy on Sept 1st” campaign.

Performances (at the Barrow Group Theater):
Friday, Oct 1st, 2010 at 8:00 pm
Saturday, Oct 2nd, 2010 at 1:00 pm
Sunday, Oct 3rd, 2010 at 5:00 pm
Sunday, Oct 3rd, 2010 at 9:00 pm
Thursday, Oct 7th, 2010 at 1:00 pm
Sunday, Oct 10th, 2010 at 5:00 pm

All tickets are $20.

ALSO, we are accepting “ticket sponsors”. We will be inviting as many producers, agents, theater companies and other important theater folks to the show as possible. Each “industry” person we can get to come see the show makes it more likely that the show will have a life beyond this production. The downside is, we have to pay for those tickets, and it becomes very expensive. So we are accepting “Industry ticket sponsors” for anybody wishing to support the show by buying extra tickets to the shows and giving them to us to give to producers etc.

Another fun “ticket sponsorship” you can participate, is sponsoring “Jenny’s Ticket”. We intend to set aside one seat in the house during each performance for “Jenny” (the person who fired me). The seat will remain empty (assuming she doesn’t come!) and will be labeled with the names of the people who paid for her seat.

If you would like to participate in either of the “ticket sponsor” campaigns please e-mail me at paviarto@hotmail.com to make arrangements!

I can’t thank you enough.
